Dr. Ralph Crew has been an ophthalmologist for 15 years. He received his medical education at Ohio University. After an internship in Detroit, he spent 4 years as a general practitioner prior to entering an ophthalmology residency in Colombus, Ohio at Doctor's Hospital. He completed his education with an additional year of fellowship training in glaucoma and cataract surgery at the University of Michigan. He is a member of such professional organizations as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Michigan Ophthalmologic Society. Dr. Crew received his board certification in 1992. Actively involved in overseas medical missions, he has made many trips to third world countries where he performs eye surgery.
Dr. Julie Boss received her medical education from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and then went on to complete her residency in ophthalmology at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus. She is a member of many professional organizations such as the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. Dr. Boss continuously strives to deliver the most comprehensive and advanced ophthalmic treatment available.
Dr. Deana Platz completed her education at the Michigan College of Optometry. Dr. Platz has been practicing in Big Rapids since 1998. She is a member of the Michigan Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association and the West Michigan Optometric Association. Dr. Platz strives to bring her patients the most comprehensive and advanced optometric treatment available. Dr. Platz welcomes patients at our Big Rapids and Howard City offices.
